In the pit for the Adelaide 500

Our apprentice Kimberley was lucky enough to be invited to work with the Penrite Racing Supercar Team at the Adelaide 500.

As part of the Repco Authorised Service and Gates Apprentices Campaign, the apprentices were able to get hands on experience by helping the team prepare the car for the track and see how the pit crew mechanics work under the pump.

The objective of this program is to reward apprentice mechanics and demonstrate to them that there is more to this industry than just the daily grind.

“It is interesting to see how the team operates behind the scenes which you cannot do as a spectator, I was able to learn so much and see how well they work together, everyone has their role, and they are able to work so quickly.” says Kimberley Haldane.

“It was intriguing to be able to see firsthand some of the tasks performed, why it is done the way it is and to be able to help with some of those tasks”.

It was great experience for her, and we are all very grateful to Repco Authorised Service, Gates and Penrite Racing for giving her the opportunity.

You can't wipe the smile from her face! To be on the winning team on Sunday was an awesome experience.

Kimberley also worked with the team at The Bend in August as a invited apprentice via Penrite Oil, so she has been one lucky person.

Thank you to Repco Authorised Service, Gates Corperation and Penrite Racing for these wonderful experiences.
